Gen Tokishima et son amie Hoshimi sont abordés par Lipumira Gweiss, une jeune femme qui s'avère être en réalité le "cerveau" d'un vaisseau "fantôme" géant et vivant, qui apparaît devant eux ! D'après Lipumira, Gen serait le Mapman, descendant d'une tribu nomade des étoiles, et détiendrait en lui les informations menant à un trésor perdu. Gen et Hoshimi vont accepter de suivre Lipumira, mais ils sont attaqués par Daine, un autre vaisseau fantôme ! Cependant, grâce à Lipumira, ils s'en sortiront sans dommage et parviennent à partir dans l'espace à la recherche du fameux trésor.
