In POON’s mansion, CHONG FUNG-YEE orders a dim sum chef to prepare breakfast for her father-in-law POON KWAI-FAN. Out of sympathy, CHING gives poor HING a bowl of porridge. HING sells his jade pendant, the last piece of possession he has, and YEE sees the pendant by chance. She orders her maid KAM to investigate whether the pendant belongs to the son she abandoned.… ...
